The World Driver’s Championship was only introduced in 1977 in which it was named as the FIA Cup for Rally Drivers until it was officially announced as the World Driver’s Championship from the 1979 season onwards. An earlier incarnation of WRC titled as the International Championship for Manufacturers began in 1970 and took place until 1972.
WRC is the absolute pinnacle of rallying with the first-ever World Rally Championship season taking place across 13 rally events for the World Constructor’s Championship in 1973.
WRC 6 is a rally simulation racing game available from retail stores and for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4.
